He has over 25 years of experience in investment and corporate finance, spanning Turkcell’s NYSE IPO and SOX 404 process, VC and GSYF investment rounds, crowdfunding, M&A, and exit processes. With experience as a Global CFO, investor, and board member, he now brings his hands-on expertise to the entrepreneurship and investment ecosystem through mentoring and advisory. He is a Co-Founder of Consulthink Financial Services.
Uğur Duran is a finance leader with 27 years of experience in finance, investment processes, corporate transformations and strategic finance management; providing leadership to growth and investment processes across a wide range from corporate companies to technology ventures. A graduate of METU Economics Department, Duran began his career in 1998 at Turkcell and served in critical areas such as financial reporting, internal audit, dealer and distributor finance management and financial processes between international operators. This strong foundation he gained on the operational side of the finance function became the building block of the CFO roles he assumed in subsequent years.
In 2006, managing Turkcell Technology's establishment process, he assumed the CFO position; playing active roles in establishing financial infrastructure of technology companies, creating growth plans and operational scaling processes. Subsequently, he assumed responsibility for managing financial processes of 14 companies within Turkcell Group.
Serving as CFO at Provus Payment Systems in 2012, Duran managed the company's sales process to Mastercard and transfer of Provus Card Personalization business line to AustriaCard. During the same period, he served as CFO and Board Member at ININAL; providing leadership to significant transformation projects in fintech and payment systems areas.
Throughout his career, serving as CFO in AKTİFBANK group companies, international organizations and technology companies, Duran most recently managed three separate investment rounds at V-Count. He also plays active roles in investment preparation, financial modeling and fund processes in the venture ecosystem.
Since 2014, providing Interim CFO services, investment preparation and financial transformation consulting to start-up and scale-up companies. Today, with his experience gained in over 20 sectors, he supports companies' growth, investment and financial structuring processes.
