Saner Mescioğlu is an investment and growth leader specialized in venture capital, venture building, financial strategy and startup ecosystem; bringing together banking, investment and entrepreneurship experience. Through his ability to evaluate corporate finance world and entrepreneurship ecosystem from the same perspective, he provides strategic contributions to companies' and ventures' investment, scaling and institutionalization processes.
Possessing engineering and MBA background, Mescioğlu began his professional career as part of a team that won first place in Turkey in an international bank's project competition; gaining comprehensive experience in product management, digital channels, payment systems, marketing, business development and finance.
Serving in senior-level positions at innovative financial institutions such as ING Bank, DenizBank, Odeabank and Aktif Bank, Mescioğlu provided leadership to significant projects particularly in digital products, payment systems, new business models and financial growth.
In the second half of his career, focusing on entrepreneurship and investment ecosystem, Mescioğlu played roles in establishment and management of the first venture capital fund focused on startup investments at Aktif Investment Bank; serving in the founding of Aktif Ventures. Subsequently, as Alternative Funds Director, he provided leadership to creation of many different investment funds and strategic partnership structures.
Following his corporate career, establishing his own venture studio structure, he worked on rapid validation, incorporation and scaling of ideas; achieving exit success in one of the ventures he founded. He has also assumed active roles as board member, advisory board member and senior executive in different startups.
To date, he has met with over 1000 startups, played active roles in over 20 investment rounds, been involved in establishment processes of 5 venture capital investment funds and contributed to investment, growth and organizational transformation processes of numerous ventures.
Holding SPL Level 3 and Individual Participation Investor (BKY) licenses, Mescioğlu today provides consulting to organizations and ventures in investment mechanisms, venture building and growth strategies.
