Koray Yavuz

Koray Yavuz, with a quarter-century of experience in the metallurgy industry, is one of the founders of Alpha Metallurgy. Active in organizations such as ISO and MISAD, Yavuz is an expert in corporate mergers, crisis management, and corporate governance.
Koray Yavuz is an industrialist, strategist, and Board Member who stands out with his many years of experience in the industrial sector. He possesses a strong vision in the areas of global adaptation of the Turkish industry, complex crisis management, and sustainable corporate governance.
Starting his education at Istanbul Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School, Yavuz subsequently graduated from the Metallurgical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering at Istanbul University. In the following years, to deepen his managerial competencies, he completed the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Istanbul Bilgi University. Furthermore, he holds certificates in critical areas such as the Board of Directors Development Program, Labor Law, Management Reporting, and Effective Communication in the Business World.
Stepping into his career journey as an Intern Engineer at İnsa Isıl İşlem A.Ş. in 1992, Yavuz served at this company for approximately 22 years in the positions of Company Manager and General Manager, respectively. He led the process of transforming this family business, founded in 1979, into Alpha Metallurgy Inc. (Alpha Metalurji A.Ş.) through corporate mergers in 2021.
He served as the founding Chairman of the Board of Directors at Alpha Metallurgy, Turkey's largest heat treatment company in terms of process, volume, and equipment, and later assumed the role of strategic oversight as a Board Member. Simultaneously, he held the positions of Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors at Alpha Heat Treatment Industry Inc. (Alpha Isıl İşlem Sanayi A.Ş.) in Konya. In 2024, he spearheaded the integration of KIND Tool Steel (KIND Takım Çelik), the Turkish distributor of the 130-year-old German company Kind&Co., into Alpha Metallurgy, becoming the Chairman of the Board of the company.
Highly active in the civil society and ecosystem dimensions of industry as well, Yavuz guided the sector as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at MISAD (Metal Heat Treatment Industrialists Association) for 11 years. After serving as the Head of the Professional Committee and Assembly Member at the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), he increased his influence at the management level as the Clerk Member of the Assembly Presidency Council. Additionally, he holds active roles within the KOSGEB R&D Innovation Board, IMES Industrial Estate Board of Directors, Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (TKYD), and the Management Consultants Association (YDD).
Koray Yavuz believes that true success in industry is keeping the institution on the right track without getting lost in operational noise; he presents a management approach focused on equity and ecosystem health, advocating not only for growth but also for knowing when to press the "brake pedal" at the right time.
